Climate change has been affecting Hawaii and the tourism culture. “There were regional statistics between 1950-2004 suggesting that climate change could escalate economic problems. The allure of the state’s natural environment, including coral reefs, shoreline, and marine life, possible that greater climate variability could impact tourism ad economy.” (Showalter, López-carr, Ervin, 2019) The author also stated that the pacific region is especially vulnerable to climate change due to its remoteness, limited resources, and changing weather patterns. Animals in Hawaii are dying and becoming extinct due to climate change heating up their habitat which is allowing mosqioto-borne diseases to rise. Habitats are getting destroyed and many more animals are becoming endangered. By having the water rise in water temperatures it can harm the algae that live inside corals. Algae can provide food for the coral and having a loss of algae can weaken corals and can eventually kill them over time. Tourist is the number one reason why this is happening because of the high carbon dioxide levels in the air because of the increase in population.
